Apparently this company has been after a lot of people...the question is who are they? After some research, I did manage to get a phone #:

(858) 560-2600. This is a # outside of CA. Their website has no information and keeps connecting to a web browser. I think these people are fraudulent.

Before today, I had never received nor heard of the company, Midland Funding, LLC. If anyone out there has actually had to go to court with these people, please post your experience.

I hope the phone # helps for anyone out there who is looking to contact this so-called company.

Good luck!

My friend received a check from these people and she has no idea why. It was addressed correctly to her but the suit names are different. Has anyone gotten a check from them?

midland is fightable...and you will win...DO YOUR RESEARCH...they have to prove that the debt is yours, and that you agreed to pay them!!!ask for all of this in writing...proof the debt is yours, proof that you have paid on it to begin with, proof you made the charges, signed documents of you making the charges, cancelled fronts and backs to all checks you paid with, original contracts/applications that show you being responsible, contract with midland that you agree and will pay them this debt!!!!Ask for the statute of limitations to be proven...

THEY HAVE NONE OF THESE REQUIRED FORMS!!!!!!!!

Send this via certified mail to them and the court...again research for proper form to write this response to the summons. They have 30 days to prove these things, when they can't and they won't...ask for the case to be dismissed with prejudice....

I have just recieved a summons for payment, but there is no phone number or address on this summons. I have tried making payment arrangements with these people because I too have lost my job, and they would not take my 50 dollars a month. They said all or court, I said court. There is no appear date or anything. If anyone knows what I should do please let me know. Thanks all...

I was sued by this company in the state of iowa, i just found out about it when i went on the iowa courts website and looked at my (speeding tickets), and noticed i had been sued by this co., i was confused by what this was. i never recieved any paper work. luckily the judge saw it for the scam it is and DISMISSED the case YAY!!!! I saw a web site that was talking about filing a suit against these jayholes. there are 2 addresses on another website

( don't know if i can mention here), but do a yahoo.com search for "midland funding suit" and it is the fifth and sixth results. they list different addresses but both people have similar stories about getting ripped off or almost by these co.

this is obviously a bogus claim, the person i am writing on behalf of has also been served a summoms to civial court. the debt was aquired eight to ten years ago and has also been charged off. the statue of limitations in our state is five years on out of state debts. how does this make any sense to anyone in this bs situation? i am very determined to get this matter exposed for what it really is,and also plan to expose these blood sucking leeches for ruining peoples lives! everyone do as much research as possible.....hang in there!!!! :( :( :(

...on debt that was charged off and is now outside the statute of limitations (SOL).

Anyone who has posted to this thread have any outcomes yet?

I'm one of the folks that get calls from these people. When I pick up and say "Hello" there is nothing but silence. What's annoying is that they are calling my cellphone and wasting my minutes.

Amazing...I have received a few of the letters from Midland Funding and have ignored them to this point due to so many posts saying that they are fraudulent. I decided to call the 800 number today, though to see what was going on (800-939-2353).

The woman asked for my account number and I gave it to her. She then asked my name and I gave her that. Lastly, she asked me to verify the last four of my ss# as being xxxx (she gave me four numbers). When I said that it was incorrect, she said "thank you, we will remove you from the mailing list, good bye."

I asked her to wait and she did. I asked what mailing address she had for me and she refused to tell me. She said "it is obviously the wrong one and I said I would remove your name." I kept pressing and she got very nasty and said "the address is on your letter and you can read it there."

Finally, I said that my name was on the letter (with the wrong middle initial) and her response was "you have a very common name. We are through here." And she hung up on me.

I guess I will wait to see if I get any more letters but it is scary that this type of scam is allowed to exist. On the bright side, with the wrong ss# they cannot hit my credit report.

Apparently the idea is too see if anyone will just pay the money without questioning it.

Whoever is behind this is morally reprehensible.

Good luck to all....
